Educational Opportunities

We aspire to Transform the Stublach site into an educational centre.

We aspire to Transform the Stublach site into an educational centre by inviting local school children to take part in activities such as hackathons and interactive experiences. We have previously hosted school age and university groups on site and are keen to expand this into a regular programme of visits.

Storengy UK are pleased to have signed up to The Pledge Cheshire & Warrington and are looking at introducing apprenticeships from September 2019. The Pledge puts employers at the heart of inspring, communitcating and providing information regularly with young people (primary, secondary and higher), showing career pathways and progression opportunities exciting them about new technologies, offering work experience, apprenticeships and jobs and working with providers to shape provision. It also provides businesses with the chance to help young people to become work ready by giving them the experience of meeting employers and the chance to undertake that helps them to develop, demonstrate and explore the skills and qualities that business look for when employing young people. The pledge will act as the glue, bringing together these opportunities in a coherent way.

We invite people of all ages to understand the nature of our business, in doing so we hope that we can educate visitors on the future of energy and the part that natural gas plays in the transition to renewables. We are proud members of Cheshire Energy Hub (CEH) a community of energy businesses local to the North West. The CEH operates a scheme promoting collaborative action, advancing the energy skills agenda. We have been involved in the graduate rotation scheme, currently in the 2nd year with 7 placements and counting.

We aim to encourage and work with school age children to promote our industry to the next generation and provide support to graduates entering our industry.

Working with the Community

Storengy UK is proud to work with local community groups.

In line with our commitment and strategy to help local business & communities towards a low-carbon economy, we will be increasing our program of roadshows and events in the local area and looking at ways we can support projects such as ones focusing on fuel poverty action, through our connections to the wider Engie group and their research and development in ground source heating.

Storengy UK plans to take a ‘roadshow’ to the local communities to present information on the progress of the Stublach site project and a range of energy efficiency improvements that residents can implement in their own homes.
