An Eye on Methane

The Global Methane Pledge (GMP) has ignited action from over 120 countries that committed to collectively reduce at least 30% of their methane emissions by 2030. The International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO), an initiative of the UN Environment Programme and a core implementing partner of the GMP, published its annual report “An Eye on Methane”. Storengy UK have been assigned a gold level standard on our reporting of methane reduction and we are well on our way to reaching our ambitious target of 45% reduction by 2025. We have been using Flir cameras, drone and sensitive gas detection technologies to identify any leaks allowing us to quickly resolve leaks found. Another large scale green project we are working on for 2023 has been our Venting project – installation of a Gas Compressor to depressurise our assets prior to planned maintenance, avoiding the need to release the gas through the cold vent stack to atmosphere.
